Injustices, Military & Law Enforcement:

Lieutenant Michael Behenna Army Ranger has been sentenced by the government to 25 years in prison for killing Ali Mansur, a known al-Qaida operative, while serving in Iraq:     (MichaelSavage.com) On his nationally syndicated talk radio program yesterday,  “I want you to understand that we do make a difference here on The Savage Nation....,” said Savage about the money collected from listeners through the Savage Legal Defense Fund.

According to Vicki Behenna, the lieutenant’s mother “Even if you haven’t sent him any money, even if you only e-mailed him or wrote him a letter it’s giving him the hope that one day he will be freed.”

Ali Mansur, a known member of an al-Qaida cell, was captured by Behenna’s platoon in Iraq in 2008 after he organized an attack which killed two U.S. soldiers and injured two more. Lt. Behenna was ordered to personally return the terrorist to his home and release him. According to Behenna’s account, Mansur lunged for Behenna as he was being returned home and Behenna shot him in self-defense.  Though an expert witness supports Behenna’s version of events, the government refused to hear this testimony.

Behenna’s case is currently in the Army Court of Appeals while he is imprisoned at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.  His legal team filed an appellate brief on Dec. 22, 2009.  The government’s response brief is due April 21.  Contributions can be made at MichaelSavage.com.

Accused Navy SEALs Appeared Before Military Court

Posted December 8th, 2009 by USNavySeals.com

December 7, 2009 did not simply mark the 68th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, where the United States both lost and bore heroes; it was also the day that 2 Navy SEALs accused of mistreating a suspect in the brutal killing of 4 Blackwater contractors were arraigned in military court.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew McCabe and Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas appeared before military court in Norfolk, Virginia. Outside the Norfolk Naval Station gate, several protesters held signs of support for the Navy SEALs. Donna Zovko, mother of slain contractor Jerry Zovko, was able to make the trip to Norfolk from Cleveland; she was said to be among the crowd who gathered to give support to the SEALs.

McCabe, who is the SEAL accused of actually striking suspect Ahmed Hashim Abed in the midsection, was able to talk to reporters. They are well aware of the outrage that resulted out of their being charged, calling the outpouring of support for their predicament “phenomenal”. We are undoubtedly among those who are pleased that we are able to do something to boost the morale of the SEALs in our own little way. From the Internet to the halls of Congress, there is support for McCabe, Huertas and Keefe.

Huertas has already entered a plea of not guilty, and his trial has been set for January 11, 2010. McCabe’s trial has been set for January 19, and he has opted to defer entering his plea until then.

The third SEAL implicated in the assault charges, Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, does not yet have a schedule for arraignment. They have all opted for a trial instead of a non-judicial reprimand, which would have resulted in a loss of rank, because they wanted their names cleared, according to Julio Huertas’ lawyer Monica Lombardi.

THE MICHAEL NEW STORY:

On October 10, 1995, the 1/15 Battalion of the 3rd infantry Division of the U.S. Army came to attention at 0900 in Schweinfurt, Germany. All but one of the 550 soldiers were wearing a sky-blue baseball-style cap with a United Nations insignia on the front. One was wearing the olive-drab flat cap

that is authorized to be worn with the Battle Dress Uniform. With this simple act of disobeying a direct order, Spc. 4 Michael New set the stage for a legal battle that has profound implications for the future of American soldiers into service of the United Nations without the constitutional permission of Congress. America stands at a crossroads in history. Will we face the future as an independent Republic? Or will our grandchildren grow up in a New World Order governed from New York City, where we as a Member State, can be consistently outvoted by a hundred other countries who do not share our hertitage, our values, and our interest? This legal case may well determine the future of our nation.  Michael's Book is free online or visit
