RE: Providing Illegal Alien pregnant women with prenatal care.
Dear Ms. Osterman:
We appreciate the fact that HHS complied with the recent request by the federal government to bring Nebraska in compliance with federal law. However, many Nebraskans are not only worried about the breaking of federal immigration law 8 U.S.C. 1324 of aiding, abetting, inducing, encouraging, transporting or harboring of Illegal Aliens but also the cost to taxpayers and the depletion of resources.
We are requesting HHS turn the names and addresses of these approximately 1,000 Illegal Alien women to the United States Immigration Control and Enforcement (ICE) the toll free number is 866-347-2423. The Sheriff's Dept./State Patrol maybe able to assist you in getting this ball rolling as well.
We hope you will also be able to provide us with some answers to the questions below:
1. How long have Illegal Alien pregnant women been receiving taxpaid prenatal care?
(a) What is the total cost associated for this time period?
(b) Who was responsible for approving this policy?
2. Is Foodstamps part of the prenatal care benefit package?
(a) If yes, how much in dollars are the Illegal Alien women given per month?
3. What is the exact number of Illegal Alien pregnant women currently receiving prenatal care?
4. Did you or anyone in your department, prior to Federal notification, know that HHS was not in compliance with federal laws?
(a) Did any HHS employee(s) report or complain that this policy was in non-compliance of federal laws?
(b) What action was taken in response to HHS employee(s)
5. Did HHS at any time report the 1,000 Illegal Aliens names and addresses to the U.S. ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement) or any other law enforcement authority?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
